Luísa Sol PhD Architect and researcher, obtained her BA on architecture, as well as a Diploma degree on Cenography, from the Lisbon School of Architecture – Universidade de Lisboa. She worked as an architect at Triptyque Arquitetos (São Paulo, Brazil) and at Aires Mateus & Associados (Lisbon). Her PhD Degree in Architecture “The Image of the City and its Represented-Space in 80’s Music Videos: North-American Interferences in Contemporary Architecture Culture”, was awarded by Lisbon School of Architecture – Universidade de Lisboa. and NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities. As a post-doctoral researcher, she is currently developing the project “Architectures of the Screen: Television and Emerging Urbanity(ies) in Portugal – From Postmodernity to Contemporaneity”, at CIAUD – Universidade de Lisboa.

She has written several essays for academic and non-academic publications focused on the enormous public space inaugurated by the television screen, where she explores the urban and domestic spaces by assessing the repercussions of architecture on audiovisual representations and vice-versa. Her interests lie in the period between postmodernism and the present, focusing on gender issues, feminism, care, the right to housing, and the various inequalities defined by the consumer economies of the landscapes built by global capitalism.
